DJ Lady D, known as the Queen of Chicago House Music, reigns supreme as a luminary in the electronic dance music scene. Born and bred in the vibrant city of Chicago, she was immersed in deejaying from a young age through her older brothers. Inspired by the likes of Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy, Lady D embarked on her musical journey, driven to unite people through the power of sound.

DJ Lady D quickly rose to prominence in the underground club circuit of Chicago during the late 1990s. Her eclectic style and ability to connect with audiences earned her a reputation as a skilled and dynamic DJ. Her sets, infused with an infectious energy punctuated by her effervescent smile, captivated audiences and earned her acclaim that would lead to invitations to perform throughout the world.

Lady D's influence extends far beyond the dance floor, as she's not only a skilled DJ but also a mentor and advocate for emerging artists, particularly women, within the electronic music community. Through her tireless efforts, she has shattered barriers and paved the way for equity and inclusivity within the industry. Her dedication to preserving the rich legacy of Chicago house music while pushing boundaries and embracing innovation has solidified her status as a true icon and ambassador of the genre.

DJ Lady D performs charismatic sets of house, disco, tech-house, and open-format for fan-filled, brand influencer, charity and celebrity events throughout the world, including appearances at the ARC, North Coast, Westfest, Noise Pop, Summerdance, Chosen Few, Wanderlust, SXSW, and Lollapalooza festivals.

A media darling featured editorially and in brand campaigns for print, television, and digital, Lady D appears on film in the documentaries, Slipcue, Godfather of Disco, Girl, The War on Disco, and in campaigns for The Chicago Public Library, CSO, and The City of Chicago. 

Playing internationally as well as in Chicago’s major nightclubs for the better part of two decades has garnered DJ Lady D a loyal following and reputation as a thrilling headliner and a prominent representative of Black women in electronic music. Since 2004 she has owned and operated D'lectable Music, a premiere House music label and marketing group, within she curates events, produces and remixes music, and provides music supervision and musical direction for various projects, including radio, podcasts, and live performances for such groups as Ted X Chicago, Chicago Bulls (Halftime Show), and NASCAR Street Race.

As of 2023, Lady D became an elected Governor for the Recording Academy’s Chicago Chapter, engaging in outreach and professional development for the music community at large.
